The city of Vancouver is one of, if not the only, place in Canada where one can go and chow down at a roaming food vendor.
Known especially for it’s diversity of flavour filled ethnic recipes, the city has decided its time to host a couple of competitions to show their support for the vendors. (more…)

A new study suggests that too much emphasis is being placed on children’s dietary habits at school and not enough is being placed on what they do elsewhere.
But does this mean that junk food being served at school cafeterias is off the hook? Not exactly.

According to a new study which examined how patients perceive a variety of words related to weight problems, patients almost unanimously felt disdain for the term “obesity”, ranking it just behind “fatness” in terms of being derivative.
Doctors in turn are being urged to refrain from using “obesity”, even though it is medical in nature, when describing a patients condition. (more…)

With the New Year here, the Canadian Food Guide is offering some eating tips for a healthy diet this year.
As always, when reading these suggestions remember to keep your portions in check and try to avoid unhealthy cooking techniques like deep frying. It might taste great, but it adds unwanted fats and oils. (more…)
